Coroico is only at 70km from La Paz (45 miles). Nevertheless
this village is at 1700m height (5600-ft.) and a 4600m-height
pass (15000-ft.) has to be climbed for reaching it.
The 3000m (10000-ft.) difference in height has to be
driven down on a literally dreadful track. This "road"
is known for being the most dangerous of America, Its
cliffs are vertiginous and a 1000m (3000-ft.) dive
is always possible with a careless mistake. Fortunately
this road will soon be part from the past because a
new broad asphalt-way which is being built.
Cumbre pass sight (4633m, 15200-ft.)
The "road of death" and its vertiginous cliffs.
