The region of Uyuni and South Lipez is a huge volcanic
desert with the famous Salar de Uyuni, which is the
world's biggest salt lake.
This 3600m (12000-ft.) height salt desert has a 12000-sq-km
surface (4600-sq-mi.), which is bigger than Lebanon.
Its natural structure is still mysterious. The temperature
variance between days and nights is very serious (from
+25°C to -25°C, -75°F to 75°F). This is the biggest
salt concentration of the world and it constitutes
for 1/3 of Lithium reserves of the earth.
Despite the very sharp sunlight, landscapes are unforgettable.

There are 11 superposed salt layers with a thickness
from 2 to 20m each.

South Lipez province own some of the most beautiful
landscapes of the earth. This is a huge desert (hundreds
of km long) where there is no human presence except
few miners. Landscapes of colored lagoons, salt pans,
volcanoes, geysers, and lonesome hills are harshest
wild.
